Andrew Muir & Other Rolex Laureates Featured on National Geographic

June 25,2009 by Emily Loose

Andrew Muir, Director of The Wilderness Foundation (Africa) was honored as a 2008 Rolex Laureate for his work on the Umzi Wethu AIDS orphan project and will be featured in a National Geographic Documentary!

The Rolex Awards honor those who “demonstrate a spirit of enterprise and address pressing needs around the world.” Andrew’s innovative vision and outstanding leadership in harnessing the healing power of nature in the multi-faceted Umzi Wethu program clearly fits the bill.

To recognize the Laureates and their programs, Rolex has teamed up with National Geographic for a special documentary on all 5 of the 2008 winners. National Geographic also has brief video clips on a special webpage for Andrew and the other Laureates. The 47 minute documentary will air internationally, in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Russian. Check local listings for times/channels. It will air in the UK on June 26, 27 and 28.
