WILD9 at Cinema Planeta Environment Film Festival

March 24,2009 by Maria

The city of Cuernavaca was the venue of the first Film and Environment Festival Cinema Planeta. The Festival was consecrated entirely to the diffusion of environmental information with 45 films. Dr. Exequiel Ezcurra – Chairman of WILD9—was one of the five members of the jury that evaluated the movies. WILD9 was also represented by Jaime Rojo – Executive Director—who spoke about the Congress as a fine example of how cultural activities are a key part of the solution in conservation. Jaime participated in a talk about the role of the arts in conservation, and he offered a presentation on the role of photography in the diffusion of wild nature.  He used images of the astonishing biodiversity of the Chichinautzin biological corridor, unknown to many of the Festival’s attendees, who live only half an hour away from this corridor in the city of Cuernavaca.
