Yale report shows Youth less concerned about global warming than their elders

On March 3rd, the Yale Project on Climate Change released a report entitled, "The Climate Change Generation?: Survey Analysis of the Perceptions and Beliefs of Young Americans." 2010 Young Conservationist Award Winner Announced

Message re-posted from Yahoo Group for Youth and Young Professionals working in Protected Areas (IUCN-WCPA), article by Rebecca Koss. A young British Conservationist has won the international award for helping to create a new model of community-run Marine Protected Areas, which both saves marine diversity and helps to feed marine dependent communities. Alasdair Harris, 30, was selected as winner of the 2010 Young Conservationist Award, an award by the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and the International Ranger Federation which honours outstanding achievements by young people in the world's protected areas. WILD's good friends and partners at Ms. Maggie's Earth Adventures just posted a great new lesson on Nomkhulubwane, the stunning elephant sculpture created by Andries Botha which traveled to WILD9 as a symbol of connectivity and sustainability.  The lessons, available in both English and Spanish, are designed to integrate learning objectives in math, science, language arts, cultural studies and geography with real environmental issues - as are all of Ms. Maggie's lessons.  Ms. Maggie's lessons are free to subscribers, and sent via a weekly e-newsletter each Tuesday! SALT – First Russian film featuring Sea Kayaking

I just got an email from Ann Zavadskaya, who I met at WILD9 through the WILD9 Young Professionals Program, about the first Russian movie on sea kayaking.  It's a non-commercial movie, so it can be seen online and downloaded by anyone who's interested!  Right now, you can watch the trailer and see some great pics of their adventure, and following the Festival of Kayaking VideoFest in Riga the full length movie will be available for download on the SALT website, which has more information about the project.
