Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot about what WILDyouth and Young Professionals will look like after WILD9. Here’s a few ideas I have. Looking forward to hearing your ideas!

WILDyouth:
– Continue with the global experiences through either Global Works and/or Outward Bound. Give youth opportunities to experience wild-places in other countries, or attend global gatherings on wilderness.

– Build on MY WILD NATURE. Using the model of the Boulder Community Foundation’s Junior Philanthropy contest, encourage youth to express their work and/or relationship to wild-nature. Host a showcase (either live or online), and give kudos and recognition to the winners (either using a similar model to BDF, or create our own. one idea – a MY WILD NATURE calendar?

Young Professionals:

- Continue collaboration with the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas.

- Create online tool-sets for communications, including “how-to” videos and other resources. Providing links and showcasing how WILD Young Pros are using communications tools to further wilderness conservation world-wide.

For example, we would build a page dedicated to blogs, with a “how-to,” why its important and how it can be used as tool, list several blog hosting services, have links or feeds of WILD Young Professional’s blogs and create a specific forum about using blogs as a conservation tool. This builds on WILD’s identity as a resource and provides valuable information for YPs!
