The WILD Awards

The WILD Awards for Advertising with Integrity for Nature was established by WILD in 1998, based on a simple concept: commercial actors and celebrities are well-compensated for their work in advertising… why not nature?

The result of companies “giving back” to help protect and sustain wild nature is a winner for wildlife and wilderness – and all of us. In a series of industry ads to promote this campaign, our collaborators at Green Team USA (an environmental ad agency based in New York City) capture the purpose exactly by saying : “Some underpaid actors go on strike..others go extinct!©”

The WILD Awards have been presented on three occasions at a gala luncheon at the United Nations, in partnership with our colleagues at the United Nations Environment Program. Honorees include Patagonia, Mutual of Omaha, Nedbank (South Africa), Animal Planet, Delverde Pasta, Canon USA, Georgia Power, American Electric Power, Home Deport, Jaguar Inc, Weyerhaeuser Company, Whole Foods Market, and numerous others. In addition, extraordinary individual leaders such as Larry Kopald, Robert Haas, and Jim Fowler have received the associated, special recognition, The Joseph R. Daley Award for Excellence in Communications for Nature.
