North American Cooperation on Wilderness

On of the key outcomes of WILD9 was the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for Wilderness Conservation, signed between the US, Canada and Mexico. The MOU, officially announced by Mexican President Felipe Calderon, is the first formal agreement between countries on wilderness conservation.  Learn more >

Boulder, CO USA is a leading example of the Nature Needs Half vision.  Currently, the City of Boulder owns and manages over 45,000 acres of Open Space and 94,000 acres of Open Space is owned and managed by the County of Boulder. By these numbers, the County of Boulder is 67% public land, much of which is managed primarily for natural values. Read more >

Transboundary Canada

The wild Flathead River flows from British Columbia, Canada (where it is currently unprotected) south into Glacier National Park, Montana.  The WILD Foundation is working closely with partners in Canada and the US to permanently protect this key conservation area, joining it the Waterton Glacier International Peace Park.  Learn more >
