WILD9, the 9th World Wilderness Congress will convene from 6-13 November 2009. Young Professional delegates are invited to a special Media Training Day on 5 November.
The WILD Foundation and collaborating partners are planning unique and life-changing opportunities for teens and young professionals at WILD9. That means YOU can be a part of this globally important gathering. This is a once in a life-time opportunity to mingle with the world’s leading wilderness advocates, gather knowledge on wilderness issues, participate in specialized sessions to build your skills as a leader and enjoy local cultural, natural and historical experiences. College students are encouraged to earn academic credit with their home institution through learning opportunities at WILD9.
Young Professionals, ages 18-29, from around the world will be offered many challenging, inspiring and interactive opportunities at WILD9. Working with the World Commission on Protected Areas (a commission within the IUCN), young professionals will offered opportunities to meet with conservation leaders, participate in meaningful dialogue with other young leaders, learn and use key communications tools and engage in all of the cultural, celebratory and learning-focused experiences of WILD9. Please stay tuned for program updates.
There will be a pre-Congress wilderness walk with Outward Bound in Sian Kaan (1-4 November) – more details >>
All Young Professionals interested in attending WILD9 should complete the online application and participate in the WILD Forum and MY WILD NATURE. These tools will help us get to know you, and build the engaging programs and learning experiences suited to your interests.
