The WILD Foundation will be an active participant in the upcoming Colorado Bioneers Conference! On Sunday, 7 November, WILD’s VP for Conservation Strategy Harvey Locke will present on The WILD Foundation’s vision for the planet: Nature Needs Half™. Based on the best science available, Nature Needs Half™ is an international call to action to protect at least half of the planet, land and water, in an interconnected way. Locke will reflect on the science behind this vision as well as the global significance and implementation of Nature Needs Half™. Harvey and other members of WILD will facilitate a discussion on this vision and wildlands and wildlife world-wide, drawing on key topics from the broadcast of Jane Goodall’s video plenary (Gombe and Beyond: The Next 50 Years, which will be shown during the preceding time slot, 2:35-4:10pm on Sunday 7 November).

About Colorado Bioneers: Visionary and Practical Solutions for Restoring the Earth and People
Experience an Oasis of Inspiration!
The Colorado Bioneers Conference, an inspirational scientific, environmental, and social justice event, will be held at the University of Colorado at Boulder on November 5-7, 2010. Bioneers inspires, educates and connects people to act effectively with practical solutions and innovative social strategies for restoring the Earth’s imperiled ecosystems and healing human communities.
Boulder is one of 20 communities in North America with a Bioneers satellite forum, taking place November 5-7 at CU-Boulder. Now in its 21st year, the annual Bioneers conference is a hub of visionary and practical solutions, gathering people at the crossroads of ecological restoration, human health, social justice and the sacred. In its eighth year, the Colorado Bioneers companion event offers a weekend of sharing, learning and action, and is a uniquely affordable community event that brings together the region’s progressive people, ideas and organizations.
Bioneers is not just a typical event. It is based on solutions and success stories – what is working in today’s world. For both professional and general audiences, this three-day annual event equips participants with models, resources, and networks, encouraging everyone to act as primary forces in the transformation toward a restorative future. By linking internationally renowned speakers with local topics and experts, the Colorado Bioneers satellite conference inspires a potent ‘global-local’ approach towards local and regional solutions.
